Charlie is the founder of Better, an experienced physiotherapist and lives his life by the motto “better never ends”.
If you’re reading this because you’re still in pain, still searching for answers, or wondering whether anyone can actually help, you are exactly who I built Better Physio Group for.
I qualified as a physiotherapist in 2010, and in recent years, I have come to realise my strengths are supporting people like you that have failed with other attempts at physiotherapy. You might have persistent pain, an injury that keep recurring, a upcoming complex post-operative recovery (or you are in one that has stalled…), or you’ve been told by someone that you should simply “manage” your problem rather than solve it. If you are looking for a second opinion, that’s not a step back, it’s often the step that finally moves things forward.
My career has always consisted of both sports medicine and private practice in parallel, putting me in the rare position of understanding the demands of elite sport whilst also working with the broadest range of conditions and people working in private practice. I’ve assessed complex cases from every angle, not just the most obvious.
Working in London throughout my career has meant I work closely with some of the UK’s leading orthopaedic and sports medicine consultants, so when a case needs more than physiotherapy alone, we already have a trusted network of doctors to call upon.
I hold an MSc in Physiotherapy and a BSc (Hons) in Sport and Exercise Science, both from the University of Essex. I worked with The Football Association across 10 years, alongside time at Saracens RUFC, Essex County Rugby, and Barking Rugby Club. This experience taught me what it actually takes to get someone back to the thing they love, at the highest level of demand on the body.
I live by one motto: better never ends. Whether your goal is returning to sport, getting back to daily life without pain, or finally understanding what’s actually going on. That’s the standard I hold every case to.
Outside the clinic, I’m kept busy by my wife and two young children. After 15 years playing rugby, I now get my exercise running, playing golf, and training in the gym.
